Dutch Luxemotor, built in 1909 and converted by a Dutch yard as their family boat.

Dimensions.

Dutch Registered (listed on Amsterdam Kadaster ).
TRIWV (FIRST OBTAINED IN 2011; Valid 2011 until 2018).
TRIWV (RENEWED 2017 Valid 2017 until 2024).
AIS Installed & certified (Simrad V5035 Class-A AIS/Inland AIS System).
Last Survey: 2017 (for insurance purposes and to obtain TRIWV renewal).

Hull and superstructure:

Riveted steel hull with welded steel superstructure. Aluminium framed windows with tinted glass in the wheelhouse. Portholes. Safety railings.
New Livery & Full Repaint in 2002. Re-painted 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017.
Hull shot-blasted and repainted with two-part epoxy in 2007.
Hull repainted with two-part epoxy in 2012.
Hull repainted again in 2017.

Engine:

DAF DHU 825 turbo, 6 cyl., 210 hp., heat exchange in-hull cooling-box.
Gearbox: PRO MASSON, hydraulic
Propeller: 4 blades; 40cm diameter

Bow thruster:


Dutch 360° commercial bow-thruster with CUMMINS engine, 80 hp, heat exchange in-hull cooling-box, with control in the wheelhouse and by remote control on the bow.

Steering:

Hydraulic steering with traditional steering wheel, joy-stick and remote control.

Electrical Supply:

24V DC and 230V/50Hz AC.
230V AC: By shore power, inverter or generator.

Generator:

LISTER PETTER 15 KVA diesel with heat exchange in-hull cooling, in silent box, with timer and remote control.
230V AC, 50Hz, 60Amps, pure sine wave.

Alternators:
  • 1 alternator on the DAF DHU 825 turbo with battery splitter (main engine),
  • 1 alternator on the CUMMINS (bow thruster),
  • 1 alternator on the LISTER PETTER (generator).
Isolation Transformer: VICTRON - 3600W, 16 AMP.

Inverters:

    Primary Inverter: VICTRON - Multiplus:
    • 24V/3000W/70AMP,

Chargers:

    • VICTRON Multiplus 24/3000/70 - 70 amp; adaptive 4 stage charger (Boost/Battery Safety to Absorption/Float & Battery Storage)
  • Secondary Service Battery Charger:
    • VICTRON combi 24/2000/50 - 50 amp; adaptive 3 stage charger used to bring charging to 120 Amps for boost charging. Can be used as a backup to the Multiplus (if required)
  • Backup Service/Starter Battery Charger:
    • Induction Charger (40 Amps) that can be switched to either the start batteries or the service batteries
  • Primary Forward Battery Set Charger: (drives the Bowthruster Rotor Arm, water pump, anchor winch):
    • TECSUP Hi-Tec - Microelectronic Switch Mode Charger - 24volt/15amp - adaptive 3 stage charger

Solar Panels:
  • Solar Power to Service Batteries:
    • 4 panels on roof (each is 125W x 12v DC, with in 2 parallel & 2 in series) providing 250W at 24V DC. 10+ Amp/hr on sunny day.


Batteries: Three Sets:

  • 24 V DC (Deep Cycle 30KG, 2V, wet cells - 12 batteries in series = 24V DC). Capacity 590 AmpHr (Domestic Services Battery). Housed in steel box, vented to exterior.
  • 24 volt (2 x 12 volt) Capacity 145 AmpHr (Engine Cranking Battery) in steel box, vented to exterior.
  • 24 volt (2 x 12 volt) Capacity 145 AmpHr (Bow-Thruster - drives the direction control on 360 degree bow-thruster) in steel box, vented to exterior.



WATER SYSTEM:


Drinking water; Two tanks of 1250 litres & 800 litres respectively (Total approximately 2 tonne).
Water-pump from the forward tank: SPECMEISTER 24 volt with large accumulator
Water-pump from the aft tanks: JABSCO 24 volt with accumulator

Water Filtration System; This delivers 2,000 litres of clean sterilised water per hour, which is used to give unlimited water for the washing machine and shower.
The system includes the following equipment:
  • Pre-filter & Water Pump (20 litre accumulator, 230 volt)
  • Sand Filter with automatic backwash (230 volt)
  • An initial 20 micron filter
  • A subsequent 5 micron filter - removes very fine particulate matter and some bacteria etc.
  • An ULTRA-VIOLET water sterilization tube (230 volt/50Hz , 36W) - kills bacteria, viruses, cyst forming protozoan parasites such as gardia & cryptosporidium, etc.
  • An Activated Carbon Filter - removes pesticides, herbicides, benzine, clorine, mercury, etc.


Fuel Systems:

'White' Diesel 800 litres (in dedicated 'white' diesel tank in engine room)
'Red' diesel 1,450 litres (in 2 'red' diesel tanks located in the forward machine room. Used for heating, generator and bow-thruster.)

Central heating/cooling:

KABOLA diesel boiler. 7 Radiators with thermostatic valves.

Air conditioning:
  • DAEWOO 5 KVA with remote control.
  • 2 KVA mobile unit for the back cabin.
Insulation: Rockwool and foam.

Hot water: By the KABOLA diesel boiler.

Gas:

3 x 13 kg Propane cylinders in a vented locker on deck. The system has 'pressure-drop' shutoff valve and a gauge and easy switching between the two connected bottles. The latest gas safety certificate is from June 2017 (required every 2 years).

B-B-Q: There are two onboard.:

Weber-Q with two 6kgs bottles.
Weber Charcoal Kettle.

Cabins:

Back cabin with large double bed (160 x 200), dressing table, hanging wardrobe, washbasin and separate toilet. Sky-light.
Second Cabin with double bed and cupboards.
Bathroom: With electric marine toilet, washbasin with cupboard, JACUZZI style bath with shower & screen. Thermostatic taps. ACOVA radiator (central heating + 220 Volts)
Saloon: Big saloon with open plan kitchen. "L" shaped settee, coffee table, cupboards, TV, DVD Player, SKYBOX, stereo system, 4 speakers and an extensive library of DVDs, etc. Opening roof (3 x 2 m) - slides open over the saloon.
Kitchen: With sink, 4 burner gas cooker (thermo-coupled rings providing safety shutoff), fridge, freezer, fan-forced electric oven, ventilator hood. Many kitchen appliances and a full set of plates, cutlery, etc.
Wheelhouse: Traditional steering wheel, dashboard and captain's chair.
Bow: Forward Technical/Machine Room (Generator, Bow Thruster, Kabola, Water & Diesel Tanks) and Large Storage in Peak (forward of Technical Room)

Sundeck:

Large sundeck with biminy (sunshade).

AIS - Class A: New in Sept 2016, with registration and installation certification. .
VHF 1: (Sailor) with VHF LICENCE registered to Histoire d'eau;
VHF 2: (ICOM with MMSI, ATIS, etc)with VHF LICENCE registered to Histoire d'eau;
